Israeli regime forces have killed scores of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in defiance of calls for truce from world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly.
At least 85 Palestinians were killed across Gaza on Wednesday as Israeli forces intensified their attacks, raising the death toll to at least 65,419 Palestinians, while 167,160 have been wounded and thousands more buried beneath the rubble since the Israeli regime launched its war on Gaza in October 2023.
“I only had what I had in my hand. I left with nothing,” Najwa, a displaced woman from Gaza City, told media. “We are frightened. Transportation is expensive. We can’t pay to bring our things.”
A UN commission of inquiry this week concluded that Israeli plans inside Palestine are aimed at establishing permanent control over Gaza while ensuring a Jewish majority in the occupied West Bank.
Meanwhile, at the UN General Assembly in New York, Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza has dominated proceedings, drawing the world leaders’ widespread condemnation.
“Those of us who are closest to the Israeli position are beginning to understand that we cannot just continue with this endless, senseless war, and that includes the United States,” Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide told media.
However, all peace proposals suggested by world leaders in past decades have been rejected by the Western-backed Israeli regime.
Earlier this month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sabotaged the Gaza peace talks by ordering the assassination of the leaders of the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement, who had gathered in Qatar to discuss a peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump.
The ICC issued arrest warrants last November for Netanyahu and his former minister of war, Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for its genocide in the besieged coastal territory.
