President Donald Trump told NBC News that he does not plan to talk to Elon Musk in the near future, adding that he has “no reason to” nor any desire to repair the relationship.
But Trump did issue a threat to Musk, saying that “he’ll have to pay the consequences” if he chooses to fund Democratic candidates.
“I’m not going to say, but he’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that,” Trump said.
The president added that he “doesn’t have to” talk to Musk or try to repair the relationship.
“I’m too busy doing other things. You know, I won an election in a landslide. I gave him a lot of breaks, long before this happened. I gave him breaks in my first administration and saved his life in my first administration,” Trump said. ” I have no intention of speaking to him.”
Trump noted that he has not had any discussions about investigating Musk for his business dealings or immigration record when asked.
