The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) has carried out three “successful” military operations against “sensitive” Israeli sites in retaliation for the regime’s strike on Yemen and in support of Palestinians who have been subjected to a genocidal war for nearly two years.
In a statement on Thursday, Yemeni military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced that his country conducted a “qualitative” military operation against a “sensitive military target” in occupied Yaffa (Tel Aviv), using a hypersonic ballistic missile named “Palestine 2”.
“The operation successfully achieved its goal”, forcing millions of settlers to flee to shelters and leading to the closure of the airspace over the occupied territories, he said.
The Yemeni Armed Forces also conducted an operation against various targets in the city of Umm Rashrash, also known as Eilat, using three drones, according to the statement.
Another drone hit a “sensitive target” in Beer al-Sabe (Be’er Sheva).
The spokesman vowed that Umm Rashrash will continue to be a main target of the Yemeni retaliatory operations.
“The incidents and developments have proven that this criminal enemy poses a threat to the region, affecting both countries and peoples, and its danger is not limited to the geography of Occupied Palestine. This requires everyone to bear responsibility.”
The statement reiterated that Yemen’s pro-Palestine operations will continue until the Israeli aggression on Gaza ends and the siege is lifted.
The Yemeni operation took place after Israel launched 12 airstrikes on Tuesday targeting the Yemeni port city of Hudaydah. In late August, an Israeli strike also killed Ahmed al-Rahawi, who served as prime minister in the Houthi-run administration in Sanaa.
Thursday’s attack occurred just four days after Israeli raids on the capital and the northern al-Jawf province killed over 40 people.
Since the onset of the genocide in October 2023, Yemeni forces have carried out scores of operations in support of the war-hit Gazans, striking targets throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to targeting Israeli ships or vessels heading towards ports in the territories.
The regime launched the war after Gaza’s resistance fighters waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the Zionist entity in response to the regime’s decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.
The regime’s bloody onslaught on Gaza has so far killed at least 65,141 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
